VooServers are proud to announce that the winners of this year’s Kent Cooks competition have been announced. The best 13 entries out of 180 entries were all invited to East Kent College, Broadstairs to take part in a Masterchef-style cook-off. Isabella Lee, 15, from Invicta Grammar School, Maidstone was crowned the overall winner of the competition and did so by coming top out of the 180 entries. Her winning dish was a tasty simmered duck with seasonal vegetables followed by sticky toffee pudding.
The winners also include:
Tom and Jonny Eden, aged 9 and 7, from Sevenoaks Primary School took first place in the Family category, cooking their menu of ‘Moreish Meatloaf and Mash’ and a Kent apple pudding. The winner of the Primary School category, cooking a delicious ‘Kentish Keema Curry’, was Sofia Bishop, 9, from Culverstone Green Primary. The secondary school winner was Aaron Waller, 13, from John’s Catholic Comprehensive school winning his category with his own signature dish of ‘Forest of Kent’.
All the winners were awarded trophies, a share of the £500 prize pool as well as certificates and goody bags.
VooServers’ Bill Parkinson was overwhelmed with the high level of cooking and the effort that each contender went to. VooServers were proud to sponsor the event and would like to congratulate each winner as well as applaud them for their expert culinary skills.
